shaka surf morocco - terms and conditions

Last updated: August 2026

Welcome to Shaka Surf Morocco!

We want your stay with us to be relaxed, fun, and hassle-free. These Terms & Conditions explain how bookings, payments, cancellations, and our services work.

By making a booking with Shaka Surf Morocco, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms & Conditions.

1. Booking & CONFIRMATION

A booking is confirmed once we have received the required 30% deposit and sent written confirmation of your reservation.

All bookings are priced in Euros (EUR) unless otherwise stated.

The remaining 70% balance is payable upon arrival at Shaka Surf Morocco.

We accept the balance by:

  • Cash in Euros (EUR)

  • Cash in Moroccan Dirhams (MAD)

  • Cash in British Pounds (GBP)

  • Bank transfer

If paying by bank transfer, the funds must have reached our bank account before or at the time of arrival. Any bank or transfer fees are the responsibility of the guest.

A bank transfer receipt or proof of payment does not constitute payment until the funds have been received by Shaka Surf Morocco.

2. CURRENCY & CONVERSION

All bookings are priced in Euros unless otherwise agreed.

If the balance is paid in Moroccan Dirhams (MAD) or British Pounds (GBP), the amount will be converted from Euros using the live XE mid-market exchange rate at the time of payment.

The exchange rate used will be communicated to the guest before payment is made.

Shaka Surf Morocco does not add an exchange-rate markup to this conversion.

Any bank charges or transfer fees associated with payment remain the responsibility of the guest.

3. DEPOSIT & TRANSFER POLICY

A 30% deposit is required to confirm your booking.

The deposit is non-refundable.

However, we understand that plans can change. To give our guests additional flexibility, the deposit may be transferred once to a new stay within 12 months of the original arrival date, subject to the conditions below.

The transfer:

  • Must be requested more than 30 days before the original arrival date.

  • Can only be used once.

  • Must be used for a new stay taking place within 12 months of the original arrival date.

  • Is subject to availability.

  • Applies to the same guest and cannot be transferred to another person unless agreed by Shaka Surf Morocco.

  • Cannot be transferred a second time.

  • If the new booking costs more, the difference must be paid.

  • If the new booking costs less, the difference is not refundable.

The transfer option is intended to provide flexibility to our guests while allowing Shaka Surf Morocco to protect accommodation, staff and other resources reserved for each booking.

4. Cancellation by the Guest

If you need to cancel your booking, please contact us as soon as possible in writing.

Our cancellation policy is based on the number of days before your original arrival date.

More than 30 days before arrival

The 30% deposit remains non-refundable.

However, you may use the one-time transfer option described in Section 3 to move your deposit to a new stay within 12 months.

15–30 days before arrival

50% of the total booking price is payable.

As the 30% deposit has already been paid, an additional 20% of the total booking price will be due.

At our discretion, we may offer the one-time transfer option in exceptional circumstances.

7–14 days before arrival

75% of the total booking price is payable.

Less than 7 days before arrival

100% of the total booking price is payable.

No-show

If you do not arrive for your booking and have not contacted us in advance, 100% of the total booking price is payable.

No refund or transfer will normally be available for a no-show.

5. Changes to Your Booking

We will always do our best to accommodate changes to your booking.

Changes to arrival dates, departure dates, accommodation, room type, surf activities, transfers or other services are subject to availability and may result in a change to the total price.

A requested change is not automatically considered a cancellation.

If a requested change cannot be accommodated, the cancellation policy in Section 4 will apply.

6. Late Arrival & Early Departure

If you arrive late, miss part of your stay or choose to leave early, we are unable to refund unused accommodation, surf lessons, surf guiding, meals, transfers or other services included in your booking.

If you expect to arrive late, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can assist you.

7. Surf Lessons & Surf Guiding

Surfing is an active sport and carries inherent risks, including the risk of injury, equipment damage and changing ocean and weather conditions.

Our instructors and guides make decisions based on the conditions, the group's ability and safety.

A surf guide helps guests find suitable surf spots and provides information and guidance about the location and conditions. Surf guiding is different from formal surf instruction.

Our surf instructors provide lessons and coaching appropriate to the participant's level and the conditions on the day.

We reserve the right to change, postpone or cancel a surf session where conditions are considered unsuitable or unsafe.

Where possible, we will offer an alternative session, location or activity.

8. Surf Conditions & Weather

Surfing depends on natural conditions and we cannot guarantee particular wave sizes, weather conditions, surf spots or that guests will surf every day.

Wave size, wind, tides, weather and other ocean conditions are outside our control.

The decision to surf at a particular location, change a surf location or modify a session will be made by our team based on safety, conditions and the ability of the group.

If conditions prevent a planned surf activity, we will make reasonable efforts to provide an appropriate alternative.

9. Surf Equipment

Surf equipment provided by Shaka Surf Morocco must be used responsibly and returned in reasonable condition.

Guests are responsible for equipment while it is in their possession.

Guests may be charged for loss or damage caused by intentional misuse, negligence or failure to follow reasonable instructions.

Normal wear and tear is not considered damage.

10. Travel & Sports Insurance

We strongly recommend that all guests obtain comprehensive travel insurance before travelling to Morocco.

Your insurance should provide appropriate cover for your trip, including, where applicable:

  • Surfing and other sports activities

  • Medical treatment

  • Personal belongings

  • Travel cancellation and interruption

  • Flight delays or cancellations

  • Personal liability

  • Emergency assistance and repatriation

Guests are responsible for checking that their insurance covers the activities they intend to undertake.

11. Health & Fitness

Guests are responsible for informing Shaka Surf Morocco of any relevant medical, physical or other conditions that may affect their ability to participate safely in surfing or other activities.

Guests should not participate in activities if they are unwell, injured, under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or otherwise unable to participate safely.

Our team may refuse participation in an activity where we reasonably believe that doing so would present a safety risk to the guest or others.

12. Personal Belongings

Guests are responsible for their own personal belongings, valuables, passports, money, phones, cameras and other possessions.

Shaka Surf Morocco cannot accept responsibility for loss, theft or damage to personal belongings except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

We recommend that guests keep valuable items secure and avoid bringing unnecessary valuables to the camp.

13. Guest Behaviour

Shaka Surf Morocco is a relaxed and welcoming place, and we ask all guests to treat our team, other guests, local residents and the surrounding environment with respect.

We do not tolerate abusive, threatening, discriminatory or seriously disruptive behaviour.

Shaka Surf Morocco reserves the right to ask a guest to leave the property or cease participation in activities where their behaviour presents a serious risk, causes significant disruption or materially affects the safety or enjoyment of other guests or staff.

In serious cases, no refund will normally be provided for unused services.

14. Alcohol & Drugs

Guests are responsible for their own behaviour when consuming alcohol.

Illegal drugs are not permitted at Shaka Surf Morocco.

Guests must never participate in surfing, driving or other activities while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

15. Accommodation

Check-in and check-out times will be communicated to guests before arrival.

Room and bed requests are subject to availability and cannot always be guaranteed.

16. Meals & Dietary Requirements

Guests should inform Shaka Surf Morocco of any allergies, intolerances or dietary requirements when making their booking.

We will accommodate dietary requirements where possible.

Guests with serious or life-threatening allergies should contact us before booking so that we can determine whether we can safely accommodate their requirements.

17. Airport Transfers

Where airport transfers are included in your booking or booked separately through Shaka Surf Morocco, we will provide the agreed transfer service.

Guests are responsible for providing accurate flight information and informing us promptly of any changes.

If a flight is significantly delayed or changed, we will make reasonable efforts to adjust the transfer where possible.

Additional costs may apply where a new or replacement transfer is required.

18. Changes or Cancellation by Shaka Surf Morocco

We make every reasonable effort to provide the accommodation and services described at the time of booking.

In exceptional circumstances, however, we may need to modify, postpone or cancel part of a booking.

This may include circumstances such as:

  • Severe weather or unsafe surf conditions

  • Natural disasters

  • Government restrictions

  • Strikes or major transport disruption

  • Serious security concerns

  • Public health emergencies

  • Other circumstances beyond our reasonable control

Where we need to make a significant change to your booking, we will communicate this to you as soon as reasonably possible and discuss the available options.

Where a service cannot reasonably be provided, we will make reasonable efforts to offer a suitable alternative.

19. Force Majeure

Shaka Surf Morocco will not be responsible for failure or delay in providing services where this results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Such circumstances may include natural disasters, extreme weather, war, terrorism, civil unrest, government restrictions, epidemics or pandemics, strikes, major transport disruption or other events that could not reasonably have been prevented.

Where such circumstances occur, we will communicate with affected guests and make reasonable efforts to find a practical solution.

Nothing in this section limits any rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.

20. Prices & Additional Services

The price confirmed at the time of booking covers the accommodation and services specifically included in your booking confirmation.

Additional services, activities, transfers or other purchases not included in your package may be charged separately.

Prices for optional services will be communicated before purchase wherever reasonably possible.

21. Complaints

If you have a problem during your stay, please let us know as soon as possible.

We genuinely want the opportunity to resolve problems while you are here rather than after you have left.

Please speak to a member of the Shaka Surf Morocco team and we will make reasonable efforts to resolve the issue promptly.

22. Liability

Shaka Surf Morocco will take reasonable care in providing its accommodation and services.

Surfing and other activities involve inherent risks, and guests are responsible for following safety instructions provided by our team.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude or limit any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.

Subject to applicable law, Shaka Surf Morocco will not be responsible for loss or damage arising from circumstances outside our reasonable control or from a guest's own actions, negligence or failure to follow reasonable instructions.

23. Photography & Media

We love capturing the experience at Shaka Surf Morocco and, from time to time, our team may take photographs or videos of guests during their stay, including during surf sessions, activities and around the camp.

With your permission, we may use photographs or videos in which you are identifiable for Shaka Surf Morocco's promotional and marketing purposes, including on our website, social media channels, advertising, brochures and other promotional materials.

Photography and media use is optional. If you do not want photographs or videos of you to be used for these purposes, please let us know when you make your booking or at any time during your stay.

We will make reasonable efforts to ensure that you are not intentionally photographed or filmed for promotional purposes and that identifiable images of you are not used in future promotional material.

Choosing not to appear in photographs or videos will not affect your booking, the price of your stay or your participation in any of our activities.

Where practical, if you are being specifically photographed or filmed for promotional purposes, we will let you know at the time.

If you have previously given permission and later wish to withdraw it, please contact us, and we will make reasonable efforts to stop using your identifiable images in future promotional material. Withdrawal of permission will not affect the lawfulness of any use that took place before the withdrawal.

This section does not prevent Shaka Surf Morocco from using photographs or videos in which you are not reasonably identifiable, such as general group, crowd, landscape or action shots where no individual guest is the focus.

For questions or requests concerning photography, media or your personal data, please contact Shaka Surf Morocco directly.

24. Personal Data

We may collect and use personal information provided by guests for the purposes of processing bookings, communicating with guests, providing services, arranging transfers and managing their stay.

We will handle personal information in accordance with applicable data-protection requirements.

25. Acceptance of These Terms

By paying the deposit and confirming your booking, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted these Terms & Conditions.

These Terms & Conditions form part of the agreement between you and Shaka Surf Morocco.

If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
